Planning & Portfolio Specialist

Huntsville, Alabama | On-Site

An established and rapidly growing wealth management practice is seeing an experienced Planning & Portfolio Specialist to serve as a trusted second chair to the lead Wealth Advisor.

This newly created role combines comprehensive financial planning, portfolio oversight, investment operations, and client interaction. The ideal candidate is technically strong, service-minded, and ready to take ownership while helping an established practice continue to grow.

What to expect

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans, analyses, and recommendations based on client goals, retirement needs, investments, and wealth distribution strategies.
  • Prepare for and participate in client meetings, clearly communicating planning and investment recommendations.
  • Monitor client portfolios, market conditions, interest rates, and cash needs while identifying potential portfolio adjustments.
  • Support portfolio implementation, investment management, and tax-efficient strategies, including tax-loss harvesting when appropriate.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for clients and confidently step in when the lead advisor is unavailable.
  • Execute money movement and ensure planning, investment, and client requests are carried through to completion.
  • Maintain accurate information within financial planning and CRM systems while collaborating with the broader team to deliver a high-touch client experience.
  • Over time, take greater ownership of select client relationships as the practice continues to grow.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of financial planning or wealth management experience
  • Strong comprehensive financial planning and investment knowledge
  • Series 7 required or ability to obtain within 90 days; Series 66 preferred
  • CFP designation strongly preferred
  • Experience working directly with clients and communicating financial recommendations
  • Experience with eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, PX/Planning Analysis, or similar planning technology
  • Tax-efficient distribution, tax-loss harvesting, and/or insurance planning experience is a plus
  • A proactive, dependable, service-first professional who takes ownership and follows through
