Private Wealth Service Associate (Para-Planner)

This team of experienced professionals in the field of wealth management advisory services.  As a mature and dynamic firm, the team provides investment and financial planning services to high-net-worth clients.  We are looking for a Private Wealth Service Associate who is energetic, detail-minded and business oriented. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative setting.  The team values self-motivation, exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. 

 The Private Wealth Service Advisor is an integral part of the of the team whose primary responsibility is to support the advisors in building and developing all planning materials and recommendations, as well as to service and support insurance and investment operations.   

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the comprehensive planning philosophy and process, from initial meeting to client onboarding, to provide the highest level of service to prospective and existing clients.
  • Build planning analysis (PX) for all prospective client close meetings, as well as when applicable for client reviews
  • Insurance and investment presentation preparation for all close meetings, including running all insurance illustrations and coordinating with the investment operations teams on all investment materials needed for inclusion in presentations
  • Support investment operations team as needed
  • Generate all materials needed for clients reviews in conjunction with advisors and investment operations team
  • Quarterly review of all presentation materials, both insurance and investment, to ensure all materials remain up-to-date and in alignment with the firms planning philosophy
  • Collaborate with advisors to identify potential planning opportunities for prospective and existing clients to properly align recommendations in preparation for close and reviews meetings.
  • Advise advisors of relevant data or information needed for decision making, ensuring effective execution and coordination.
  • Generate, monitor, and submit all insurance applications (life, disability, long term care, and annuity), ensuring compliance with all relevant state-specific regulatory requirements and internal policies, including those established by Northwestern Mutual, to provide a seamless submission of all applications.
  • Oversee the underwriting of all insurance applications from submission to placement, collaborating with advisors where necessary to ensure appropriate coverage is ultimately placed on behalf of client.
  • Deliver high quality written and verbal correspondence to both clients and internal staff, showcasing excellent communication skills, including but not limited to:
    • Follow up with prospective clients on additional information and materials needed for timely completion of planning analysis and both insurance and investment materials
    • Providing weekly updates on the underwriting status of newly submitted business, including responses directly to the underwriters by obtaining any additional information requested from client
    • Resolving client inquiries and requests related to the servicing of existing insurance policies and accounts
  • Resolve client inquiries in a timely and effective manner
  • Generate feed lists for all client review meetings
  • Contribute to internal workflow system upgrades and development to improve operational efficiency

 

Results:

  • Ensure all planning analysis and presentation material are finalized on time and with accuracy.
  • Ensure all planning analysis benchmarks are obtained prior to conclusion of agents and calendar years.
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive reviews, including in-force illustrations, term-conversion illustrations and feed lists.
  • Proactively monitor and respond to underwriting updates, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Maintain a high standard of communication and resolve client inquiries promptly.
  • Attend and participate in relevant conferences, home office learning opportunities, and technology additions & enhancements.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • California Life & Health license
  • FINRA Registration (Series 6, Series 7 preferred, 63 or 66) (or must obtain Series 7 within 180 days of employment)
  • 2+ years of planning and insurance operations experience
