St. Louis Park, Minnesota or REMOTE

The Opportunity

An established and growing financial services organization is seeking a Director of Advisor Recruiting to play a pivotal role in the firm's next stage of growth.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an accomplished business development professional who knows the financial advisor landscape, can build credibility with successful advisors and business owners, and is motivated by the opportunity to directly influence growth—and participate meaningfully in the value they create.

The Director of Advisor Recruiting will lead the firm's efforts to attract experienced financial advisors and advisory teams while developing strategic relationships that may lead to succession, enterprise partnership, or M&A opportunities.

This is not simply a recruiting role. It is a growth role with significant visibility, autonomy, and earning potential for someone who can build relationships, create opportunities, and convert them into long-term partnerships.

What You'll Own

  • Lead the firm's advisor recruiting strategy and serve as the primary driver of new advisor and team opportunities.
  • Build relationships with successful financial advisors, advisory teams, and business owners considering their next stage of growth.
  • Develop a strong pipeline through personal relationships, referrals, centers of influence, industry events, strategic partners, and proactive outreach.
  • Lead sophisticated discovery conversations around an advisor's business, growth goals, economics, team, succession plans, and long-term objectives.
  • Articulate the firm's value proposition and help advisors understand how the platform can support greater scale, growth, operational efficiency, and enterprise value.
  • Manage opportunities from initial relationshipshrough commitment, coordinating senior leadership, economics, due diligence, compliance, and transition resources.
  • Identify and cultivate larger strategic opportunities, including succession relationships, enterprise partnerships, partial liquidity opportunities, and potential M&A transactions.
  • Develop influential relationships across the industry, including custodians, wholesalers, consultants, recruiters, and other centers of influence.
  • Build the infrastructure behind the growth strategy, including pipeline management, CRM discipline, forecasting, follow-up, and reporting.
  • Partner directly with senior leadership on high-value opportunities, negotiations, and strategic relationships.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and firm leadership to strengthen the firm's visibility and positioning within the advisor community.

Why This Role

The person stepping into this position will have the opportunity to build a meaningful growth channel rather than simply manage an existing process.

You'll have direct access to senior decision-makers, the autonomy to develop relationships and pursue opportunities, and the resources of an established organization behind you.

Most importantly, this is a role where performance and financial opportunity are closely connected. The organization is looking for someone who is energized by creating significant enterprise value and wants an opportunity where exceptional results can translate into exceptional earning potential.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in advisor recruiting, wealth management business development, advisor transitions, practice management, relationship management, or a related financial-services role.
  • Strong understanding of the independent advisor, RIA, broker-dealer, OSJ, aggregator, or advisor-support landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate opportunities and develop relationships with successful financial advisors, teams, and business owners.
  • A strong network within the wealth management or financial advisor community is highly valued.
  • Track record of navigating sophisticated, high-value, relationship-driven sales or recruiting cycles.
  • Executive presence and the ability to establish credibility with experienced advisors and senior industry professionals.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to understand advisor economics, growth opportunities, and the business considerations behind a transition.
  • Highly proactive, competitive, self-directed, and comfortable being accountable for measurable growth.
  • Strong pipeline management and CRM discipline.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees or relevant financial-services credentials are a plus.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses a plus.
